Yemen & Urine: Episode 24, January 18th 2012

An Australian and a Californian discuss WikiLeaks for your infotainment. Today we were joined by Vietnam Veteran Edward Dyer, and Musician Christopher Sisk. We discussed the incident caught on film of the USA Soldiers urinating on the dead bodies in Afghanistan, and whether or not artificial soldiers would be any better, and Edward provided a soldiers' perspective. We discussed war video games, post traumatic stress disorder, the high rate of suicide in war veterans, and the peril of reporting the truth of what happens on the ground during war. Fox "News" came up during that conversation. We then looked at Al Qaeda presence in Yemen, following on from last weeks' discussion about the NDAA passing, where one of the reasons for it was because, until this bill passed, the US citizen who was vocal about traveling to Yemen to seek out terrorist training could not be picked up for it, but now he could be, hopefully before he shoots up a bunch of people in a mall. Cables discussed specifically were #09SANAA1963 and #10SANAA317. We also looked at the SOPA/PIPA protest that was taking place today, and Christopher provided a musicians' perspective. Pamela sang a little bit too....sorry about that!! Finally we discussed Playboy and Hugh Hefner as an activist, and how scary it is that television shows about murder are a dime a dozen, but a wee bit of nipple has to be shown after 9pm. http://www.meaninglesswords.org/resources/mw%20ep24.mp3

Cablegate: Anniversary! & Occupy, Assange extradition, & proposed NDAA bill

An Australian and a Californian discuss Wikileaks for your infotainment. This week we looked at cable #09STATE23141 which touched on the relocation of Iraq scientists who were forced into their WMD program. Whether they were unsuccessful intentionally or not is to be determined. We are following up with the scientist from this cable to try and interview him, if indeed he did end up in Australia after several failed attempts to acquire a visa. But first we looked at the incident at Occupy UC Davis with the "Pepper Spray Cop." Also, we celebrate one year since the diplomatic cables were first released by WikiLeaks, and Julian Assanges' upcoming verdict. AND we talked about the proposed bill to the NDAA stating that the US Military can hold civilians indefinitely..... http://www.mediafire.com/file/ab24l47j5a70t9k/Meaningless%20Words%20Episode%2022.mp3

BAN POLICE USE OF NON LETHAL WEAPONS

This is an excerpt from Episode 6, May 2011, which was before we made this show into a podcast (the full episode and much more can be found at www.meaninglesswords.org) but we thought that with all of the police brutality taking place since the Occupy Movement began, it was worth putting out a mini-podcast of this particular speech. Thanks for listening! http://www.meaninglesswords.org/resources/Non%20Lethal%20Weapons%20Rant%20from%20Meaningless%20Words%20E06%20May%202011%20(before%20Occupy%20existed).mp3

Blow Whistles & Occupy with Special Guests Jimmy Massey & Sandra Peevers!

An Australian and a Californian discuss WikiLeaks for your infotainment. The best thing about this job is that I have the opportunity to speak to real revolutionaries like Jimmy Massey, who has made the world a better place by just having the guts to speak the truth. He was the original whistleblower from the latest Iraq War (how sad is it that we have to specify which war?) and let the world know that civilians were being murdered in Iraq, not just enemy combatants. He received criticism for this for years, until the Iraq War Logs released by Wikileaks Cablegate last year backed up everything Jimmy had said was true. On top of that, he's a humble and "regular" guy who was willing to share his story with us, along with new insights into life after whistleblowing. We were also joined by Sandra Peevers from RevolutionTruth & Occupy Otsego, whose valuable insights into the Occupy Movement apply to all occupiers, so listen up! Thanks once again Jimmy and Sandy, and you are both welcome back anytime :) Please keep us updated on your pursuit for truth, transparency, and democracy. After these interviews, we looked at cable #03KUWAIT1381... http://www.mediafire.com/file/ijb01o5hc0gvh63/Meaningless%20Words%20with%20Special%20Guests%20Jimmy%20Massey%20and%20Sandra%20Peevers,%20a%20Whistleblower%20and%20an%20Occupier,%20Episode%2021%20Recorded%20November%2014th%202011.mp3

CABLEGATE: Switzerland SEPQ 2009

EPISODE 18 An Australian and a Californian discuss WikiLeaks for your infotainment. This week we looked at the cable 09BERN109 which was a continuation of our investigation into the SEPQ cables which began in episode 17. Some interesting predictions were made at the end with regards to the implied threat versus the actual threat against the USA. http://www.mediafire.com/file/hti07ejk9dy88i9/MeaninglessWords%20Episode18%20recorded%20October%2025th,%202011.mp3
